The 35th National Games concluded with an impressive display of athleticism and sportsmanship in Karachi, with the Pakistan Army emerging as the dominant force. The closing ceremony, graced by Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, was attended by prominent leaders including PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh’s Chief Minister. The event highlighted the unity and diversity of Pakistan, with athletes from various regions, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber, coming together to showcase their skills.

The Pakistan Army topped the medal table, securing an outstanding 353 medals, including 200 gold, 97 silver, and 56 bronze. Wapda followed closely in second place with 232 medals, while the Pakistan Navy took third with 110 medals. The Higher Education Commission and host province Sindh finished with notable performances, ranking fifth and sixth respectively.

During the event, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari presented a traditional Sindhi Ajrak and cap to Field Marshal Munir, symbolizing Sindh’s cultural pride. The Pakistan Police were awarded the Best Performance Trophy, and swimmer Hamza Asif Kot was honored for breaking national records.

In his speech, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized that the National Games were more than just competition; they represented Pakistan’s unity. Field Marshal Munir officially closed the event, leaving behind a legacy of pride, resilience, and national unity.
