Arshad Claims Global Breakthrough Athlete Award

Pakistan’s Olympic hero Arshad Nadeem has achieved another historic milestone by winning the prestigious Global Breakthrough Athlete award in Dubai. The javelin champion received this honor at the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Sports Awards held during the star-studded World Sports Summit. This recognition celebrates his record-breaking performance at the Paris Games where he became the first athlete from Pakistan to win an Olympic gold medal with a massive throw of 92.97 meters.

The ceremony took place at Madinat Jumeirah and was attended by global sporting icons including tennis great Novak Djokovic and boxing legend Manny Pacquiao. Arshad expressed his deep gratitude on social media thanking the Dubai Sports Council for their warm hospitality and Sheikh Mansoor bin Muhammad for presenting the trophy. He dedicated the win to his supporters stating that he feels proud to represent Pakistan on the global stage. The event also saw Danish badminton star Viktor Axelsen named the Global Athlete highlighting the international significance of the awards which recognize excellence from the Arab world and beyond.
