ECC Approves Grant For Bulletproof Cars

The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet has officially sanctioned a technical supplementary grant of Rs 2.11 billion for the purchase of bullet-proof vehicles. This significant decision was taken during a high-level meeting at the Finance Division presided over by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb. The committee examined the proposal submitted by the Defence Division and agreed that the procurement was essential to meet operational imperatives and address pressing security-related requirements.

During the same session, the committee also took steps to honor national sporting heroes by approving a separate grant of Rs 167.5 million for the Pakistan Under-19 Men’s Cricket Team. This package includes Rs 10 million for each of the fifteen players and Rs 2.5 million for the match officials, recognizing their outstanding international achievements. The Chair emphasized that such rewards serve as vital encouragement for young talent to represent the country with distinction. Additionally, the session commenced with the committee offering Fateha for Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, paying tribute to her distinguished service and her lasting impact on the country's economic governance and tax policy reforms.
