PM Appoints Tahir Ashrafi As Coordinator

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has officially assigned a significant new responsibility to the Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi. According to a notification issued by the Prime Minister's Office on Thursday he has been appointed as the Coordinator for Religious Harmony and the Diaspora in the Middle East and Muslim countries. This new role takes immediate effect and the notification clarified that he will serve in an honorary capacity. This move highlights the government's intent to strengthen diplomatic and religious ties with Muslim nations while addressing the concerns of overseas Pakistanis.

Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi is a prominent figure who has consistently advocated for national unity. Before this appointment he emphasized that the nation remains fully united on matters of defense and warned that those spreading rumors would not succeed. He has also been vocal about the importance of tolerance and moderation in society observing that these values have been neglected in public discourse. By appointing him to this position the government aims to utilize his experience to bridge gaps and promote a positive image of the country across the Muslim world.
