Punjab Launches Largest Tractor Scheme

The government is actively working on a comprehensive policy to address regulatory duties and tackle the various challenges currently faced by the tractor industry which is considered vital to the country's agriculture sector. This initiative was the focal point of a recent high-level meeting between the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Finance Haroon Akhtar Khan and the Chief Executive Officer of Millat Tractors where discussions centered on industry sustainability and policy development. Mr. Khan emphasized the government’s firm commitment to formulating this policy with full stakeholder engagement to ensure that it remains inclusive and effective for all parties involved.

Highlighting the crucial role of the tractor industry in supporting farmers and driving agricultural productivity the Special Assistant stated that the new policy will align with international best practices. He stressed the necessity of a long-term framework to provide a sustainable solution to the industry's ongoing issues rather than short-term fixes. Furthermore, Mr. Khan reaffirmed that this strategic initiative is in perfect line with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s broader vision of ushering in a new industrial revolution in Pakistan aimed at boosting exports and economic stability.
