Higher Education Commission Unveils 'Digital University of Pakistan' to Expand Access

Key Pillars of the Digital Initiative:

Nationwide Reach: The university will leverage a hybrid learning model, combining online coursework with a network of physical "HEC Learning Hubs" established in underserved and remote areas, ensuring students, even in regions with limited connectivity, can participate.

Affordable & Inclusive: A primary goal is to provide high-quality, accredited degrees (initially focusing on in-demand fields like Computer Science, Data Analytics, and Business Administration) at a fraction of the cost of traditional on-campus programs.

Industry-Aligned Curriculum: The HEC emphasized that the curriculum has been developed in close consultation with industry leaders to ensure graduates possess the skills required by the modern workforce.

Addressing Education Challenges:

"The Digital University of Pakistan is not just a new institution; it's a critical intervention to democratize education," said HEC Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed during the launch ceremony in Islamabad. "We are committed to leveraging technology to overcome geographical and financial barriers, empowering Pakistani youth with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in the global digital economy."
