ISLAMABAD — August 27, 2026 — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with the outgoing Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, at the Prime Minister’s House today. The premier expressed Pakistan’s deep appreciation for Riyadh’s steadfast support and highlighted the pivotal role played by Saudi Arabia in promoting regional stability.
Commending Years of Diplomatic Service
The meeting marked the completion of Ambassador Al-Malki's official tenure in Islamabad, where he has served as the Kingdom's envoy since 2017
Prime Minister Shehbaz congratulated the envoy on his successful assignment, praising his efforts to deepen fraternal and strategic relations between the two nations. The Prime Minister also conveyed warm wishes to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Highlighting Pakistan’s Middle East Mediation Role
The high-level diplomatic engagement comes as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar briefed international partners, including the Commonwealth Secretariat, on Pakistan's active diplomatic mediation efforts in the Middle East.
Islamabad’s ongoing diplomatic initiatives have focused on easing regional tensions and facilitating dialogue between key international players.
