Driving School Fees in Islamabad 2026: Complete Price Guide

What car, bike and scooty courses really cost in Islamabad this year, what each fee includes, and where the hidden extras usually sit.
Driving School Fees in Islamabad 2026: Complete Price Guide

ISLAMABAD — Driving school fees in Islamabad depend on three things: the car you learn on, how many hours of driving you get, and what the price includes. King Driving School (KDS) publishes its full package ladder, from Rs 20,000 for five one-hour Alto lessons to Rs 55,000 for twenty, with pick & drop included and the same price for a male or female instructor. Its bike and scooty courses start from Rs 14,000, the Suzuki Mehran from Rs 13,000 (group training), and the intensive KDS Signature Plan costs Rs 60,000.

Key takeaways

  • Lowest car-course entry price at KDS: the Suzuki Mehran course is listed from Rs 13,000 (group training); the Alto and Mira courses start at Rs 20,000 for 5 days.
  • A 10-hour Alto course: Rs 35,000 at KDS with pick & drop included. Some schools charge pick & drop separately, so add it to any quote you compare.
  • Bike and scooty: from Rs 14,000 at KDS.
  • Compare per hour, not per course. Session length, transport and instructor gender are where quotes differ most.
  • Government licence fees are separate and are paid to Islamabad Traffic Police, not the school.

KDS prices are as listed on kingdrivingschool.com in October 2026. They may change, so confirm with the branch before enrolling.

What to check when comparing driving school fees in Islamabad

Islamabad driving schools do not all quote fees the same way. Some publish an itemised price list, some do not publish prices online at all, and directory listings often mix short refreshers with full courses. Before you compare headline numbers, line up the same details for every school on your list. The right-hand column shows where KDS stands on each one.

What to checkWhy it mattersKing Driving School (I-10 Markaz & PWD)
Is the fee published? If you cannot see a price, you cannot compare it, and extras tend to appear laterYes, a starting fee for every course it runs
Cheapest car courseBudget courses are often group training or shorter sessionsMehran from Rs 13,000 (group training)
Alto (automatic / manual)Check days and minutes per day, not just the totalRs 20,000 (5 days × 1 hr) / Rs 35,000 (10 days × 1 hr)
Female instructorSome schools charge more for a female-instructor courseYes, at both branches, same price
Pick & dropSome schools add a transport charge by distanceIncluded in covered sectors
Licence guidanceSome schools sell test preparation as a separate packageIncluded in every course

No single school will be the cheapest on every line, and that is fine. KDS's strengths are a lower-cost way in (five hours for Rs 20,000 if you already know the basics), pick & drop with no extra charge, no premium for a female instructor, bike and scooty courses, and a published price for every package length. On a 10-hour course, compare its Rs 35,000 against the full total you are quoted elsewhere, including transport.

King Driving School fee list by course

KDS publishes a starting fee for every course it currently runs. Its current fleet is the Suzuki Alto (automatic and manual), the Daihatsu Mira automatic and the Suzuki Mehran, plus a Honda CD-70 motorcycle and a scooty. You can browse them all on the KDS courses page.

The full Alto and Mira package ladder

For the Alto Automatic, Alto Manual and Daihatsu Mira Automatic courses, KDS lists four one-on-one packages, each with one hour of driving per day.

PackageDriving timeFeePer hourWhat it adds
Starter5 days · 5 hoursRs 20,000Rs 4,000Basic vehicle control; best if you have some familiarity
Standard (KDS's "most chosen")10 days · 10 hoursRs 35,000Rs 3,500L-shape parking and reversing, signals and roundabouts; aimed at complete beginners
Advanced15 days · 15 hoursRs 45,000Rs 3,000Optional night driving, heavy traffic, emergency braking, car-care workshop
Advanced Plus20 days · 20 hoursRs 55,000Rs 2,750Expressway etiquette, parallel and angle parking, simulated test preparation

The KDS Signature Plan sits alongside this ladder at Rs 60,000. It covers 13 days: ten one-hour drives with senior instructors, including motorway driving, plus three 40-minute parking and test-prep classes and learner-permit assistance. Government licence fees are not included.

What the fee actually includes

Two schools can quote similar headline numbers and still end up thousands of rupees apart. These are the items to check:

  • Driving time. Ask for days and minutes per day. A 10-day course of 30-minute refreshers is half the wheel time of a 10-day, one-hour course.
  • Instructor, car and fuel. KDS says its fee covers the instructor, the training vehicle, fuel and all scheduled driving hours.
  • Pick & drop. KDS includes free pick & drop from home or office in covered sectors of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Where a school charges transport on top according to distance, ask for the amount in writing before the course starts.
  • Female instructor. Some schools price their female-instructor courses a little higher. KDS charges the same price for a male or female instructor. The exception is the Mehran, which KDS runs with male instructors only.
  • Licence help. KDS says every course includes guidance on the learner permit and licence test, plus L-shape parking practice. Elsewhere, licence test preparation is sometimes sold as a separate package, so ask.
  • Air-conditioning. Islamabad summers are hot. KDS's website mentions AC cars; check that any car you are quoted for is air-conditioned.

A worked example: 10 hours of Alto automatic with a female instructor

Say you live in G-11 and want ten one-hour automatic lessons with a woman instructor, picked up from home:

  • KDS Standard package: Rs 35,000, female instructor on request, pick & drop included. Total: Rs 35,000.
  • Any other quote: take the course fee for 10 days × 1 hour, then add any female-instructor premium and the pick & drop charge for your sector. That total is the number to compare.

A lower headline fee can still be the better deal, so do the sum honestly. KDS tends to make most sense if you live far from a school's branch, want transport sorted without a separate negotiation, or only need the shorter 5-hour Starter course for Rs 20,000.

Why driving course prices vary so much

  1. The car. Older manual cars such as the Mehran are cheapest to run, so their courses cost less. Newer automatics and sedans cost more.
  2. Full course or refresher. A refresher of 30 minutes a day is cheaper than a full one-hour course because it is shorter, not because it is better value.
  3. Instructor gender. Some schools charge more for a female instructor. Not all do.
  4. Transport. Included pick & drop can be worth a few thousand rupees over a 10-day course.
  5. Intensity. Premium plans such as the KDS Signature Plan add senior instructors, motorway driving and learner-permit assistance, and cost accordingly.
  6. Promotions. Some schools advertise large percentage discounts, so check which course and how many hours the offer price covers. KDS says it runs seasonal offers and that you can ask either branch about current discounts.

Licence fees are separate from driving school fees

Whatever school you choose, government fees are paid to Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP). KDS's licensing guide lists, at the time of writing: learner permit Rs 1,000, non-professional licence Rs 3,000, professional LTV/HTV licence Rs 10,000, smart card Rs 2,000, medical Rs 200, road-safety lecture Rs 200 and car road test Rs 200. The learner-permit, licence and card figures match the May 2024 revision described in an Auditor General report covered by ProPakistani in July 2026. That report recommended a review, so check the current amounts on the ITP DLIMS licensing portal before you go.

Budget roughly Rs 6,600 in government charges for a first private-car licence (permit, licence, card, medical, lecture and test) on top of your course fee.

How we put this guide together

We used KDS's published course pages and fee lists, its licensing guide and ITP information, and judged them against the same criteria we suggest every learner uses:

  • Price transparency: is a fee published online?
  • Starting price for comparable courses (Alto automatic or manual, Mehran, bike, scooty).
  • What is included: fuel, pick & drop, licence guidance.
  • Female instructors and whether they cost extra.
  • Car range, including two-wheelers.
  • Coverage: branches and pick-up areas.
  • Experience and reviews: KDS was founded in 1996, according to Zameen, and holds a 4.8-star Google rating at both branches (1,377 reviews at I-10 Markaz and 196 at PWD). Read recent reviews for any school you are considering.

For a wider ranking that goes beyond price, see our guide to the driving schools we rate highest in Islamabad.

Five questions to ask before you pay

  1. How many sessions, and how many minutes per session, does this fee cover?
  2. Is pick & drop included for my sector, and is there a distance limit?
  3. Is there an extra charge for a female instructor or an AC car?
  4. Does the fee include licence guidance or test-route practice?
  5. What happens if I am not comfortable after the first class? KDS says it offers a money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied after your first class.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is a driving course in Islamabad in 2026?

At King Driving School, published fees in October 2026 start at Rs 13,000 for a Suzuki Mehran course (group training) and Rs 14,000 for a bike or scooty course. A one-on-one Alto course costs Rs 20,000 for 5 hours or Rs 35,000 for 10 hours, with pick & drop included. Fees at other schools vary, so compare the cost per hour and what each price includes.

Is King Driving School the cheapest option in Islamabad?

Not always; it depends on how much driving time you need. KDS's published entry prices are Rs 13,000 for the Mehran and Rs 20,000 for a 5-hour Alto course, with pick & drop included. For a 10-hour course, some schools quote a lower headline fee but charge pick & drop or a female-instructor premium on top, so compare the full total for your sector.

Is pick and drop included in driving school fees?

It depends on the school. King Driving School includes free pick & drop in covered sectors of Islamabad and Rawalpindi from its I-10 Markaz and PWD branches. Some schools charge pick & drop separately by distance. Always ask before paying.

Do female driving instructors cost more in Islamabad?

At some schools, yes: the female-instructor course is priced a little higher. King Driving School charges the same price for a male or female instructor at both branches, except the Mehran course, which uses male instructors.

Are licence fees included in the driving school fee?

No. Government fees are paid to Islamabad Traffic Police, even on the KDS Signature Plan. At the time of writing, KDS's licensing guide lists a learner permit at Rs 1,000, a non-professional licence at Rs 3,000 and a smart card at Rs 2,000. Confirm current fees with ITP.

How much does a scooty or bike course cost in Islamabad?

King Driving School's scooty course and Honda CD-70 bike course both start from Rs 14,000, with female instructors available for scooty training. If you compare two-wheeler courses elsewhere, check the number of sessions and whether a female instructor is available.

Is the Rs 60,000 KDS Signature Plan worth it?

The KDS Signature Plan suits learners who want an intensive 13-day course: ten one-hour drives with senior instructors including motorway driving, three parking and test-prep classes, and learner-permit assistance. Government licence fees are extra. If you only need city driving, KDS's Rs 35,000 10-hour Standard package covers the basics.

The bottom line on driving school fees in Islamabad

Compare cost per hour of driving and what is included, not the headline number. A lower quote elsewhere can be the right choice once you add transport and instructor charges, so do the sum for your own sector. King Driving School includes pick & drop from two branches, charges no premium for a female instructor, and publishes every package from Rs 20,000 to Rs 55,000. That makes it an easy school to budget for. Call the I-10 Markaz branch on (051) 4445444 or the PWD branch on (051) 4445666, or book your seat through the online admission form.
