Frequently Asked Questions

To find X% of Y: multiply Y by X, then divide by 100. Example: 20% of 500 = (500 × 20) ÷ 100 = 100.

Percentage increase = ((New Value - Old Value) ÷ Old Value) × 100. Example: from 200 to 250 = ((250-200)÷200)×100 = 25% increase.

Percentage decrease = ((Old Value - New Value) ÷ Old Value) × 100. Example: from 500 to 400 = ((500-400)÷500)×100 = 20% decrease.

Divide X by Y and multiply by 100. Example: 25 is what % of 200? = (25÷200)×100 = 12.5%.

Percentage change measures the relative change between two values. A positive result means increase; negative means decrease.
