Lahore, September 11, 2026: Pakistan cricketers Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq have been questioned by the National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore, adding another development to the controversy surrounding Pakistan’s troubled Test tour of England.
Both players were among seven cricketers sent back to Pakistan following heavy defeats in the first two Tests against England. Pakistan lost the opening Test by an innings and 103 runs before suffering a 194-run defeat at Lord’s.
Rizwan and Imam were summoned by the cybercrime agency on Thursday. Reports indicate that at least one of the players spent several hours at the agency, although authorities have not publicly explained the precise reason for the questioning.
The development comes shortly after the Pakistan Cricket Board launched an internal disciplinary inquiry following media reports concerning alleged discipline and conduct issues within the team. The PCB has not publicly identified the players involved in that inquiry.
The NCCIA questioning has quickly become a subject of discussion on social media, where the latest developments surrounding Rizwan, Imam and Pakistan’s England tour are attracting attention. An Instagram post published earlier this week also focused on the reported PCB investigation involving the two players.
However, the exact connection, if any, between the NCCIA questioning and the PCB’s separate disciplinary inquiry remains unclear. No conclusion about wrongdoing should be drawn until the authorities provide further information.
