How to Use UK Skilled Worker Salary Calculator
How the Skilled Worker Salary Rules Work
A job offer has to pass two salary tests. It must reach a yearly threshold, and it must reach a share of the going rate for the occupation. Whichever is higher sets the real minimum, and the going rate is often the one that decides it.
An example
A job with a listed going rate of £45,000 at 37.5 hours needs £48,000 at 40 hours, because £45,000 × 40 ÷ 37.5 = £48,000. A £42,000 offer passes the £41,700 threshold but still fails this job's going rate.
Before you rely on an offer from Pakistan
- Check that the employer holds a sponsor licence on the official register.
- Check that your occupation code is eligible at the required skill level.
- Be wary of anyone selling a certificate of sponsorship. Paying for one is a known fraud and can cost you the visa.
